Newsprint

The production of newsprint is continuous. It starts from debarking and felling of pulpwood into pulpchips on a chips production line of a wood development section. The main units of the line are Cambio debarking machine (Italy) and Pallmann drum felling machine (Germany). Felled chips are accumulated in a closed warehouse and are further delivered with belt conveyers to a section of thermomechanical pulp. The RTS technology, developed by Andritz company (Austria) with the basic equipment of this company, is applied in the production of thermomechanical pulp. The thermomechanical pulp is poached with peroxide. Paper is manufactured by a paper-making machine BDM 526 produced by PetrozavodskMash CJSC. The paper is cut and rolled by a machine produced by an Italian company A Celli paper. It is further packed with Pizzolato packing machine (Italy). Chemicals used for the manufacture of newsprint and chalk overlay paper are prepared with the technology, developed by Procoat company, on the machines produced by Procoat and PetrozavodskMash CJSC.

Production of paper is highly water intensive. There was founded a section for conditioning of manufacturing water and wastewater purification. It allows receiving high quality manufacturing water and wastewater. The equipment and technology was developed by a German company Häggert Elsässer.

Production of paper is non-waste. Waste products, such as sawdust, chips fuel and bark, are burnt in boiler rooms running on solid fuel. Steam produced by the boiler rooms is used for production needs.

A cogeneration plant runs on natural gas (with simultaneous electricity production) and steam.

The production process is highly computerized and mechanized.

Saw timber

The production of edged timber is conducted on two simultaneously operating timber processing lines - GIGA 02 chipper-canter lines (Italy). The timber is debarked and graded on a bark-stripping and grading line, equipped with a metal detector and a scanner. Sawn-up timber is graded and put into drying bags. It is dried in SECEA automated drying rooms (Italy), consisting of two blocks. Each block contains 3 rooms, 200 m³ each. The saw timber is finally graded and packed on Valentini Legno line (Italy).
